All dogs and cats entering the Turks and Caicos Islands must be accompanied at the port of entry by an import permit issued by Animal Health Services. All the import requirements for an import permit MUST be complied with in full before your dog or cat is given permission to enter the country. Failure to do so will result in the animal being refused entry, held in holding and deported within 48 hours at the owner´s expense or be euthanized. There are no options for quarantine in the Turks and Caicos Islands.

Domestic Pets – there are no restrictions on bringing domestic pets into the Turks and Caicos Islands from a rabies free country such as the United Kingdom. Pets entering from countries with a low incidence of rabies such as the United States and Canada require additional documentation.

The pet must be micro chipped with an ISO 11784/11785 microchip.

The pet must be accompanied by an International Health Certificate, issued by the Veterinary Authority of the country of export. For example from the USA – it must be issued by a USDA Accredited Veterinarian and endorsed by APHIS VS is required to travel with dog or cat to the Turks and Caicos Islands.

• The health certificate must be signed in an ink color other than black
• The health certificate is valid for 10 days from the date of issue by a USDA-Accredited veterinarian.  The health certificate must then be endorsed by the USDA prior to submission of the import permit application to the Turks and Caicos.
