When Your Pet’s Island Entry Matters

Caribbean Pet Travel

Your Pet’s Island Entry, Perfectly Prepared

Everything you need to ensure your pet qualifies for seamless Caribbean entry — clearly organized, expertly guided, and ready when you are.

The Problem: Traveling to the Caribbean with a pet can feel like anything but paradise! The overwhelming logistics of island hopping involve tight time frames, inconsistent regulations, and the danger of overdosing with multiple parasite treatments. An even worse case scenario is denial of entry, quarantine, or euthanasia.

The Solution: We will create a custom Caribbean Pet Passport for your pet depending on your itinerary. It includes the individual import and export requirements of the island (s), entry protocol, government and veterinarian contact details, import permit information if applicable, and travel tips.

The Expertise: We provide the expert knowledge and tools to make pet travel throughout the islands streamlined, safer, and enjoyable for all. As pet travel professionals we will take the time to review your travel plan and make suggestions for safer itineraries based on entry requirements.

Case Study: Entry to St. Lucia (Dog, Commercial Flight)

The Risk

The owner’s veterinarian followed a standard international health certificate timeline — however, St. Lucia requires a specific waiting period after the rabies titer (FAVN) blood sample is drawn. This critical entry window was not accounted for in the veterinary process.

What We Found

The timing of the rabies titer draw would have invalidated the pet’s eligibility for entry and prevented approval of the import permit for the intended arrival date.

Outcome

The waiting period was corrected within the allowable window, documentation was restructured and resubmitted, and the pet entered St. Lucia successfully with no quarantine or delays.

Before / After

Before:
Conflicting guidance from the veterinary clinic. The client was provided with an RNATT test, which is not accepted for St. Lucia entry. A FAVN test was required instead.

After:
Once the documentation was professionally reviewed, the requirements became clear. We coordinated with the veterinarian to correct the testing and documentation, resulting in full approval with no complications.

Proven Track Record

Since 2015, pets guided through Caribbean island entry requirements under our direction have successfully entered without denial when documentation is followed as advised.

Marina Tip

Always confirm that your selected marina allows pets. One cruiser reported that after arrival, their marina prohibited pets from leaving the yacht under any circumstances due to local restrictions.

Client Experience

“I wouldn’t attempt Caribbean pet entry again without professional review.”
